callback

A security feature that works in the following way: a user dials into a communications server and enters a user name and password; the communications server then hangs up the modem connection, searches its database to authenticate the user, and calls the user back at a predefined number. Callback provides good security and is cost-effective for users who remotely access networks from the same location each time, but not for users who use different locations each time. 技術詞彙字彙表 |
