McAfee Email and Web Security Appliance software 5.x

There are two possible causes for this issue:
  • The information for the RBL organization was copied into the configuration. For example, list.dbsl.org or multihop.dbsl.org should be used for queries for the dbsl.org list and not just the dbsl.org entry.
  • One of the RBLs is out of service. If this is the case, this RBL server will report positive results for any query. The RBL server will classify any IP as a member of the blacklist, causing the Appliance to block every email.

Visit the website of the RBL organization for instructions to configure a specific lookup.

Ensure that the RBL you have configured is in service, and check for changes to the relevant sites on a regular basis.
