When enabled by the Host IPS administrator, the agent tray icon is visible on clients and you can open the client user interface (clientUI) by double-clicking the tray icon.
You can unlock the clientUI locally for troubleshooting purposes.
To unlock the clientUI:
- Double-click the Host IPS tray icon to open the clientUI.
- Click Task, and then select Unlock User Interface.
- Type the appropriate administrator or time-based password.
The default administrator password for the clientUI is abcde12345. McAfee recommends that administrators change the default password immediately after the installation is complete.
To generate a
time-based password for end users from the ePolicy Orchestrator console, select the
Host Intrusion Prevention General policy, and then navigate to
Advanced Options,
Time-based password.
For instructions to change or reset the clientUI password, see the "Setting Client UI advanced options and passwords" section of the
Host Intrusion Prevention 8.0 Product Guide (
PD22894).
