Key product details
VSCL 6 integration with email or gateway scanning.
VSCL integrates antimalware protection.
VSCL is one option to integrate leading McAfee antimalware protection into server environments where other, more optimized integrations might not apply.
For optimal performance and protection. McAfee recommends that you install and run McAfee server or gateway products that closely fit the wanted integration wherever possible. These products are designed for gateway use cases, such as email scanning, while VSCL has different design intentions and capabilities. To find the appropriate solution for your needs, contact your sales representative.
VSCL was not designed to handle the high transaction rate and concurrent file operations in a typical server environment. For those environments, McAfee recommends that you use only the McAfee server or gateway family of products. If you still want to use VSCL in a server environment, McAfee recommends that you do so only for scanning larger collections of static data wherever possible. McAfee does not recommend that you invoke it for single file scanning on a repeated basis. This recommendation improves the overall performance experience with VSCL by reducing the DAT initialization overhead.
