Endpoint Encryption Manager (EEM) Release Information
Beginning with Build 5701, McAfee has introduced maintenance releases for the individual Endpoint Encryption products. Maintenance releases for Endpoint Encryption products will be developed and released individually, according to their own separate schedules. By splitting the products in this way, McAfee Engineering can issue minor releases to address specific product issues when necessary without affecting other Endpoint Encryption products.

McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the McAfee Downloads site at: http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx.

NOTE:
You will need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the McAfee Downloads site, as well as alternate locations for some products.

* The Release to World (RTW) version of Windows Server 2008 shows the version as Windows Server 2008, Build 6001: Service Pack 1. This is the base version and Service Pack 1 is included.
** A workstation can be used to host only an Endpoint Encryption Management console. Workstations cannot be used to host the Endpoint Encryption database because to host the database, a Windows Server is required to run server class operations.
*** As of June 2010, Windows 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft, meaning that the sustaining and development of products on this platform by McAfee will also end.
The following Service Packs are no longer supported by Microsoft, meaning that the sustaining and development of Endpoint Encryption products on this platform by McAfee will also end.
NOTES:
  • Installing to a Microsoft Windows Cluster Server has not yet been tested. Although problems are not expected, testing is being currently undertaken to provide support for a Cluster Server installation.
  • Management of EEPC 6.0 requires ePO 4.5. For supported operating systems for ePO4.5, see KB51569.
†† Full support for Windows 8 is provided with EEPC 7.0 and EEFF 4.1, which are available from the McAfee Download Site using a valid grant number.
VMware Support
For the Product Statement on the use of VMware with the Endpoint Encryption Management Server, see KB65747.
