How to rebuild the ePolicy Orchestrator Master Repository

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x, 4.x

Summary

This article describes how to rebuild the Master Repository (catalog.z) for ePO.
  1. Stop all ePO services:
    1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
    2. Right-click the following ePO services and select Stop:
       
      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Application Server
      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Event Parser
      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Server
       
  2. Rename and recreate the Master Repository folder:
    1. Click Start, Run, type explorer, and click OK.
    2. Navigate to:

      ...\<ePO_installation_directory>\DB\Software 
       
    3. Create a backup copy of the Software folder by renaming it to Software_Backup.
    4. Create a new folder called Software in:

      ...\<ePO_installation_directory>\DB

  4. Start all ePO services:
    1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
    2. Right-click the following ePO services and select Start:

      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Application Server
      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Event Parser
      McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Server
     
  5. Check in the Agent and Key updater packages:
     
    Agent package:
    1. Log on to the ePO console.
    2. Click Menu, Software, Master Repository
    3. Click Check In Package.
    4. Follow the steps in the Package Check-In wizard to check packages in to the repository for future deployment. 

      NOTE: Check in the Agent installation packages used in your environment. These are WindowsInstallFiles.Zip, MacInstallFiles.Zip, and/or LinuxInstallFiles.Zip. They are located in the following folder by default:

      C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\Imports\Agents\InstallPkg
     
    Key updater package:
    1. Log on to the ePO console.
    2. Click Menu, Software, Master Repository.
    3. Click Check In Package.
    4. Follow the steps in the Package Check-In wizard to check packages in to the repository for future deployment. 

      NOTE: The key updater package (AgentKeyUpdate.zip) is located in the following folder by default:

      C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\Imports\Plugins
     
  6. Check in software packages for ePO:
    1. Log on to the ePO console.
    2. Click Menu, SoftwareSoftware Manager.
    3. Download all products you had checked in previously.
     
  7. Run a Pull task to download all repository update files (Example: .DAT files, Engine, and so on):
    1. Log on to the ePO console.
    2. Click Menu, Software, Master Repository.
    3. Click Pull Now.
    4. Follow the steps in the Pull Now wizard to complete the Pull task.
    5. Run a Full replication.
