McAfee VirusScan for Linux (VSEL)

Use the instructions in this article to install EXTRA.DAT files on VSEL.

To install the extra.dat

Download the EXTRA.DAT file.
Open a command line session and copy the extra.dat file to the engine/dat subdirectory. Ensure the file is named extra.dat (all lower case). Type the following command and press ENTER:

cp extra.dat /opt/NAI/LinuxShield/engine/dat/extra.dat
Change directory to /LinuxShield/bin. Type the following command and press ENTER:

cd /opt/NAI/LinuxShield/bin
Restart the LinuxShield daemons. Type the following command and press ENTER:

./nails.initd restart

VirusScan Enterprise for Linux 2.0.x
VirusScan Enterprise for Linux 1.9.x
