Add or update the following file extensions to the MIME type list on the Microsoft IIS server:
.xml, .dat, .exe, .log, .upd, .zip, .mcs, .bof, .msp, .gz, .z, .bin, .key, .rpm, .chm, .pdb, .gem, .ini, .cer, and .*
NOTE: Capitalization for extensions added to the Microsoft IIS MIME type list must match the case of the file extensions on the ePO server where the Master Repository resides. If they do not, the files are not copied to the Microsoft IIS server where the Distributed Repository resides. Clients that access that repository do not update correctly. Make the following changes to the default Microsoft IIS settings:
For IIS version 7 or earlier:
- Start IIS Manager.
- Select Web Sites.
- Right-click Web Site and select Properties.
- Click the HTTP Headers tab.
- Click MIME types.
- Click New or Change and add or modify each of the entries in the table below.
- Click OK.
- Close IIS Manager.
NOTE: You must restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service or wait for the worker process to recycle for the changes to take effect.
For IIS version 8 or later:
- Start IIS Manager.
- Expand the web server, and then expand Sites.
- Select the relevant Web Site.
- In the right window, double-click MIME types.
- Click Add or Change and add or modify each of the entries in the table below.
- Click OK.
- Close IIS Manager.
NOTE: You must restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service or wait for the worker process to recycle for the changes to take effect.
