For details of VSE 8.x supported environments, see KB51111.

You see either of the following errors when a client tries to access network shares:
Not enough server storage is available to process this command
Not enough memory to complete transaction. Close some applications and retry

You see the following entry in the Windows System Event log:
Event ID : 2011
Source : Srv
Description: The Server's configuration parameter "IRPStackSize" is too small for the server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter.

These errors might be reported on some computers after applying a VirusScan Patch.

  • On some computers you might see this after you install a VirusScan Enterprise Patch that updates the drivers.
  • You see this issue on some low specification computers where the available CPU or RAM is insufficient for the VirusScan FEAD (a high compression tool used prior to VSE 8.7i) optimizer to run.

If you see this issue after applying a VSE Patch (updating the VirusScan drivers), restart your computer.
In all other cases, use the following solution.
