How to reset a password in ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x

Environment

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x
ePO Pre-Installation Auditor (ePIP) 2.x

Problem

You are unable to log on to the ePO console because of an incorrect password.

Cause

The password for the administrator account has been changed or lost.

Solution

ePO Pre-Installation Auditor 2.0.0 allows you to change your ePO administrator password.

On the McAfee ePO server:

Download ePIP from the following location:
https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/my-products.html

IMPORTANT: You need a valid Grant Number for access.
Double-click ePIP.exe.
IMPORTANT: You must be an administrator or have appropriate permissions to run ePIP.exe.
Select Change ePO administrator password, and then click Next.
Type your SQL Server database information, and then type your new McAfee ePO administrator password.
Click Change Password.
After the tool indicates the successful password change, click Finish.

You can now use your new ePO administrator password to log on to ePO.

To contact Technical Support, go to the Create a Service Request page and log on to the ServicePortal.

If you are a registered user, type your User ID and Password, and then click Log In.
If you are not a registered user, click Register and complete the fields to have your password and instructions emailed to you.

IMPORTANT: For security reasons, Technical Support can't help you recover lost passwords for ePO accounts. Implement account and password management policies such as:

Maintain a backup administrator account.
Create individual accounts for each administrator.
Adhere to corporate requirements for accounts and passwords.
