How to manually install the 5400 Incremental Engine Update in supported GroupShield 7.0 for Domino on Windows environments.

Solution

Installation to Windows 32-bit operating systems:

CAUTION: This article contains information about opening or modifying the registry.
  • The following information is intended for System Administrators. Registry modifications are irreversible and could cause system failure if done incorrectly.
  • Before proceeding, McAfee strongly recommends backing up your registry and understanding the restore process. For more information, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256986.
  • Do not run a .REG file that is not confirmed to be a genuine registry import file.

  1. Download the 5400 Incremental Engine package (epo5400eng.zip) from: http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security-updates/security-updates.aspx?region=us by clicking Security Updates, Engines.
     
  2. Extract the file engmin.zip from epo5400eng.zip.
  3. Extract the contents of engmin.zip to a temporary location, for example c:\5400tmp1.
  4. Click Start, Run, type services.msc, then click OK.
  5. Right-click McAfee GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7 and select Stop.
  6. Create a new folder 5400.4018 under the Engines folder: 

    C:\Program Files\McAfee\GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7\bin\Engines\5400.4018

  7. Copy all files from the temporary location (c:\5400tmp1) to the new Engine folder:

    C:\Program Files\McAfee\GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7\bin\Engines\5400.4018\

  8. Click Start, Run, type regedit, then click OK.
  9. Navigate to and select the following registry key:

    [HKLM\Software\McAfee\GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7\SystemState]

  10. In the right pane, double-click EngineVersion, set the Value Data to 5400.4018, then click OK.
  11. Click File, Exit.
  12. In the Services window, right-click McAfee GroupShield for Lotus Domino v7 and select Start.
