Endpoint Security and VirusScan Enterprise do not scan USB devices upon insertion
Technical Articles ID:   KB65663

McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.x
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8

ENS Threat Prevention and VSE do not scan USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices upon insertion.

This is expected behavior. By default, the On-Access Scanner scans USB devices only when the files on the devices are accessed.

NOTE: If the USB device contains Autorun or Autoplay files that perform an action when the device is mounted (for example, a read/write to the local system), this action is detected and a scan is triggered.
