Documented Known Issues


Issue Description
Issue: On June 1, a false detection of W32/Generic.worm.aa was reported to have occurred sporadically on a small number of Windows XP and Vista computers running VirusScan Enterprise v8.7i Patch 1. McAfee removed Patch 1 from the ServicePortal and the download site pending investigation.
Resolution: VSE 8.7i Patch 1 was reposted 12 June 2009. All features remain in effect. Please ensure you are using the latest DAT and Patch for VSE 8.7i or later.


Issue Description

Issue: On 32-bit systems, the Access Protection rule Prevent termination of McAfee processes is disabled on clients even when the managed policy shows that it should be enabled.
NOTE: This issue only affects customers who installed the VSE 8.7 Patch 1 RTS version.
Resolution: For customers who installed the VSE 8.7i Patch 1 RTS version, this issue was first resolved with VSE 8.7 Patch 1 Hotfix 464768.
