Use the following steps to download and run the MER tool for VirusScan Command Line Scanner for Solaris:

1. Download the MER tool attached to this article (mer_solaris.sh.gz).
2. Copy mer_solaris.sh.gz to the affected client computer.
3. To unzip the script file, type gunzip mer_solaris.sh.gz and press Enter.
4. To run the script, type sh mer_solaris.sh and press Enter.
   The output of the MER tool is collected in the file mer.out.gz, which is located in the directory you start the tool from.
5. Submit the output file to Technical Support.
   
   
   To contact Technical Support, go to the Create a Service Request page and log on to the ServicePortal.
   • If you are a registered user, type your User ID and Password, and then click Log In.
   • If you are not a registered user, click Register and complete the fields to have your password and instructions emailed to you.
