On-demand scan tasks scheduled locally encounter issues

McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8.x For details of VSE 8.8 and ePO supported environments, see KB51111. SummaryBackground Information
Users can create and schedule local tasks if the VirusScan console has not been locked down. In an ePO-managed environment, this configuration can lead to an overlap of on-demand scan (ODS) tasks running, both those tasks created through ePO and ones created by users. NOTE: It is possible to preserve ePO tasks or local tasks when you upgrade to a later version of VSE. For ePO tasks, the product development team recommends against this scenario. The reason is because ePO-managed tasks should be modified only through the ePO console. If you encounter this scenario, contact Technical Support.
