McAfee Anti-Malware Scan Engine 6.x.xx
McAfee Security for Lotus Domino 7.5 (Windows)

This article details how to configure Security for Lotus Domino to stop it from automatically updating to the latest Anti-Malware Scan Engine.
This action might be needed because in some scenarios the Domino administrator might not want to update all servers to the most current Scan Engine. For example, the administrator might want to first complete internal testing on the Scan Engine or perform a limited initial deployment.

Use the McAfee XDAT files:
To avoid installing the latest Scan Engine, and at the same time keep up to date with the latest DAT Files, disable all update tasks, including those tasks from ePolicy Orchestrator or other management solutions.
After all update tasks are disabled, download and run the SuperDAT Executable (XDAT files) that contain only DAT File updates and not Scan Engine updates. XDAT files are updated daily and are available from the Security Updates site at: https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/security-updates.html.

If Security for Lotus Domino is installed on a server with no other McAfee products:
You can avoid updating the Scan Engine by importing an AutoUpdate Repository List (Sitelist.xml) that points to any repositories that do not have the latest Scan Engine available for download.

To edit the AutoUpdate Repository List:
  1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to \Program Files\McAfee\Security For Lotus Domino\Bin.

NOTE: This path is the default installation path; adjust the path to suit any custom path installation.
  2. Double-click EditSiteList.exe to start the Site List Editor.
  3. Type the appropriate site details.
  4. Disable the NAIHTTP repository.
  5. Close the Site List Editor.
To import a preconfigured Sitelist.xml:
  1. Click, Start, All Programs, McAfee, Security for Lotus Domino, Product Configuration.
  2. Under Dashboard click Settings & Diagnostics.
  3. Click Import and Export Configuration.
  4. Click the Sitelist tab, then browse to locate a valid Sitelist.xml.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Close Security for Lotus Domino.
NOTE: If the Sitelist.xml contains the site NAIHTTP, there is no way to avoid updating the Scan Engine if these sites are accessed.

If Security for Lotus Domino is installed on the server with only VirusScan Enterprise 8.x:
It is possible to configure VirusScan Enterprise Update Tasks to not update the Scan Engine.
  1. Click Start, Programs, McAfee, VirusScan Console to open the VSE Console.
  2. Right-click on all AutoUpdate tasks.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Deselect Get newer detection engines if available.
  5. Click OK and Apply, as needed.
  6. Close the VirusScan Console.
