McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders 3.x
McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Removable Media 1.x

NOTES:
  • McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders was formerly known as SafeBoot Content Encryption. McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders 3.2.1 (Build 5500) was the first release to be branded with the McAfee product name.
  • Endpoint Encryption for Removable Media (EERM) is automatically installed with Endpoint Encryption Files and Folders (EEFF) 3.2.0 and later releases.

Summary

IMPORTANT: EEFF 3.x has been superseded by both of the following:
  • EEFF 4.0. To review the supported environments for EEFF 4.0, see KB72735.
  • File and Removable Media Protection (FRP) 4.3. To review the supported environments for FRP 4.3, see KB81149.
NOTE: FRP is the new name for EEFF.

Documentation Corrections

As Microsoft releases new operating systems or Service Packs, the original Intel Security Product Guides might not reflect the current support policy for those platforms. Most of the following information is available in the Product Installation Guides and Readme.txt files. However, some of the information is available only in Product Management statements published in the KnowledgeBase.

NOTE: With the release of EEFF 3.2.6 and EEFF 4.0, changes have been made to allow Key Encipherment as a certificate type. This allows a certificate type of either Data Encipherment, Key Encipherment, or both, to be used with these versions and later.

IMPORTANT: Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders 3.x has been superseded by Endpoint Encryption for Files and Folders 4.0. To review the supported environments for EEFF 4.0, see KB72735.

Maintenance Release Information (EEFF 3.2.1 and later)

NOTE:
Maintenance releases have been introduced since the release of EEFF 3.2.1 From this release, Endpoint Encryption products are developed and released individually, according to their own separate schedule. By splitting the products, EEFF Engineering can issue minor releases to address specific product issues whenever necessary, without affecting other Endpoint Encryption products.

McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the Product Downloads site at: http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx.

NOTE:
You will need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the Product Downloads site, as well as alternate locations for some products.
