NOTES:
  • The release of VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.7i Patch 3 coincides with approval for support of the Windows XP Embedded platform. For details see KB60902.
  • A later VSE release is now available on the McAfee Download Site.

    NOTE:
     You will need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the McAfee Downloads site, as well as alternate locations for some products.

557464  KB68448 Issue:  Explorer.exe does not run after installing VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i Patch 3 with Standard Protection: Prevent Windows Process spoofing enabled.
Resolution:  An updated content file is available from the McAfee update site, and from article KB68448.

Reference Number Related Article Issue Description
537674  KB67987 Issue:  ePolicy Orchestrator created tasks were not stopping when set to run only for a specified time.
Resolution: . This issue is resolved in the VSE8.7 Patch 4. which is available from the McAfee Downloads site using a valid Grant Number. The VirusScan Management Plug-in will now use the correct function call to terminate the task on 64-bit platforms.
  KB68330 Issue: The McAfee Agent "About" window may show VirusScan Enterprise information twice.
Resolution: This symptom is a user interface issue only with no functional side-effects. To correct it, log off and log on again.

Issue: DAT Update fails intermittently
Resolution: First resolved in VSE 8.7i Patch 4.

576912 KB69230

Issue: After you install Hotfix 539488, Outlook can return the following error when launched: E-mail Scan protection is disabled. Restart "Microsoft Outlook" and "McAfee Engine Service" service to enable protection.
Resolution: First resolved in VSE 8.7i Patch 4.
