Summary

This article provides steps for determining the version of the non-Windows McAfee Agent installed on a Mac.

Solution

To determine the version of McAfee Agent that is installed and running on your Mac:
  1. In the Finder, click Go, Utilities.
  2. Click Terminal.
  3. Type the following command and press ENTER:

    sudo cat /etc/cma.d/EPOAGENT3700MACX/config.xml
     
  4. When prompted, type the Administrator password.
    The command produces output containing the following information:
    ...
        <ProductName>McAfee Agent</ProductName>
        <Version>4.5.0.1270</Version>
        <Language>0409</Language>
        <InstalledPath>/Library/McAfee/cma</InstalledPath>
        <UninstallCommand>/Library/McAfee/cma/uninstall.sh</UninstallCommand>

    ...
  1. Record the version information and then close Terminal.
