1. Download the software image (for example, sensorsw_5200_815215.jar) from the Product Downloads site, to the TFTP server. This file is compressed in a .jar file.
   NOTE: Ensure that you download the correct Sensor image for the Sensor model and the software version that is installed on the Manager.
   
   
   McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the Product Downloads site at: https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/my-products.html.
   
   NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. See KB56057 - How to download Enterprise product updates and documentation for more information about the Product Downloads site, and alternate locations for some products.
   
   
   NOTE: If you try to downgrade from the Manager GUI, you don't need to follow the following two steps.
    
2. Extract the files from the .jar file:
   Rename the file to a .zip extension if needed and extract the contents.
    
3. Save the image file (sensorsw_xxx0_xxxxx) to the /tftpboot directory.
   NOTE: See the TFTP server documentation for specific instructions on how to place the Sensor software on the TFTP server. 
    

From the Sensor console:

1. Log on to the Sensor. The default user name is admin and the default password is admin123.
   NOTE: McAfee strongly recommends changing the password.
    
2. Specify the IP address of the TFTP server:
   At the prompt, type: set tftpserver ip <IP address>
   Example: set tftpserver ip 192.34.2.8
    
3. Load the image file on the Sensor:
   
   At the prompt, type loadimage Sensor Software FileName and press Enter.
   
   Example: loadimage sensorsw_5200_815215
   
   The image loads and then displays a completion message.
    
4. Remove the previous software configuration files:
   Type resetconfig and press Enter.
    
5. Retype the Sensor information as documented in the Sensor Configuration Guide or the Quick Start Guide for your Sensor and Sensor software version.
    
6. Set the Sensor shared secret key.
   After you have established trust between the Sensor and the Manager, the signature set currently on the Manager is pushed down to the Sensor. For example, Manager 9.x.x.x is bundled with a specific 9.x signature set. That version is pushed to the Sensor. Now the Sensor is initialized and the View Details window displays a valid signature set.
   
   NOTE: You can optionally download a different signature set to the Manager and then push it to the Sensor.

From the Manager:

1. Log on to the Manager, then click Manager, Updating, Manual Import.
    
2. Click Choose File and select the Sensor software file obtained in the Obtain the software and place it on the server section.
3. Click Import. After the import finishes, close the small window that popped up.
   NOTE: The Sensor software file MUST NOT be extracted. The correct file extension is .jar.
    
4. Click Devices, Devices, (Sensor Name), Maintenance, Deploy Device Software.
   In the right pane, select the target Sensor software version. Then click Upgrade.
    
5. After the upgrade completes, close the small pop-up window.
   NOTE: DO NOT click Reboot Now in the manager.
    
6. Log on to the Sensor. The default user name is admin and the default password is admin123.
   NOTE: McAfee strongly recommends that you change the password.
    
7. Remove the previous software configuration files:
   Type resetconfig and press Enter.
    
8. Retype the Sensor information as documented in the Sensor Configuration Guide or the Quick Start Guide for your Sensor and Sensor software version.
