Deferred scan prompt does not appear

Problem

When an On-Demand Scan task is scheduled via ePolicy Orchestrator with configuration settings that allow you to defer the scan for an hour, you do not always see the expected prompt. Consequently, the scan runs without allowing you to defer the task.

Solution 1

This issue is resolved with Patch 5 or later for VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.7i.

Solution 2

If you want to remain on Patch 4 for VSE 8.7i, install Hotfix 564152 (HF564152).

Workaround

Upgrade to VSE 8.8 because this version does not experience this issue.
