Summary

This support statement is provided by the Product Management Team.

McAfee Security for Email Servers products (formerly known as GroupShield for Exchange and GroupShield for Domino) provide customers with a number of methods to configure and/or generate reports with the product. These include:

  • A stand-alone Microsoft Windows client
  • A  Web browser-based interface
  • Via McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)

Of these three methods, the first one (the stand-alone Windows client) was built using certain Microsoft Windows and open source components that have now reached end-of-life status. Because these components are now end-of-life, McAfee can no longer source updates or fixes for them.

Therefore, starting with McAfee Security for Microsoft Exchange 7.6, the stand-alone Microsoft Windows client was deprecated. The Web browser-based interface is the main method of configuring and interacting with these products.
