Set the RPC Timeout value to -1 on the filer.
NOTE: You can perform these steps while connected to the controller via SSH, RSH, or Telnet. Use a tool that records the session to a log file in the event NetApp Technical Support assistance is needed.
- On the filer through a command prompt, type the following and press Enter to set the filer option to a value of -1:
options cifs.rpcfd_timeout -1
- To confirm the setting, type the following and press Enter:
options cifs.rpcfd_timeout
The value returned for the option is -1.
- To make sure that the malfunctioning servers disconnect and reconnect, restart the antivirus services on the server. Or, you can disable and re-enable antivirus on the filer.
- Monitor the filer for the issue to reappear.
