Internet Explorer Cannot Download (Download attachments in Internet Explorer from Secure Web Delivery email attachments fail)

When you download attachments from Secure Web Delivery email using Internet Explorer, the attachments fail to download and you see either of the following error messages:

Internet Explorer Cannot Download

<Filename> couldn't be downloaded

However, other web browsers supported by the Appliance can download the attachments as expected from Secure Web Delivery email.


This problem occurs if you have selected the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option in Internet Explorer.

Because file downloads in Internet Explorer require a cache or temporary file, and Internet Explorer is configured to not save encrypted pages to disk, a cache file is not created and the download fails.


Follow the steps in Microsoft support article 2549423 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2549423) to allow the files to be cached and allow the download.
