VSEL 1.9.x supports all kernel versions on the supported operating systems.
For VSEL 2.0.x, the kernel version must be 2.6.38 or later for the supported operating systems.
Linux distributions are based on a supported version such as RHEL, but are modified and hardened by vendors. These modified versions are treated as separate distributions and aren't supported, unless explicitly specified in this article.
IMPORTANT:
Excluding the distributions and operating systems listed below, VSEL doesn't support future operating system releases, because of known vulnerabilities.

Scan Engine and DAT Support
Because of the security risks involved in running an out-of-date Scan Engine, we actively enforce an EOL policy for older Scan Engines. We have stopped all internal testing of DAT files on EOL Scan Engines, and any issues encountered with an EOL Scan Engine are out of scope for support.
EOL period—The time frame that runs from the day we announce product discontinuation, until the last date that we formally support the product. In general, after the EOL period is announced, no enhancements are made.
EOL date—The last day that the product is supported, according to the terms of our standard support offering.
