This article explains how SiteAdvisor Enterprise (SAE) determines when to stand down and when to stand up when you select the Web Gateway Interlock Policy option.
Gateway Interlock Policy
With the Web Gateway Interlock Policy, you can configure SAE to stand down from its enforcement and site rating operations if it detects that your organization already enforces network traffic through a Web Gateway Appliance. For further details covering the SAE 3.x and Web Gateway Interlock features, see PD22603.

NOTES:
- Any change in IP, gateway address, or domain for the host is determined as a Network Change.
- When multiple policy options like Gateway policy and Landmark are selected, all the respective checks for the individual policies have to pass. For example, if both McAfee Gateway and Landmark options are selected, the configured landmark IP(s) should be reachable and http://gateway.siteadvisor.com/ should not be reachable because of the presence of the Gateway.
