Problem

When you install a VirusScan Enterprise hotfix locally on a Windows 7 system, the system displays the following error:

Program Compatibility Assistant

This program might not have installed correctly

If this program didn't install correctly, try reinstalling using settings that are compatible with this version of Windows.

Program: Patch (820636) for VirusScan Enterprise 8.8.0
Publisher: McAfee Inc
Location: c:\users\(user_Name)\Desktop\VSE88HF820636.exe.

The following two options are available with this message:

Reinstall using recommended settings
This program installed correctly

Ursache

This message from the Microsoft Program Compatibility Assistant is for applications and not hotfixes.

Lösung

If you receive this message, click the option This program installed correctly.

NOTE: This issue will occur with VSE hotfixes that are deployed by an ePolicy Orchestrator Deployment Update task.
