SiteAdvisor Enterprise events are not being sent to the ePolicy Orchestrator server
Technical Articles ID:
KB78453
Last Modified: 3/8/2017 EnvironmentMcAfee SiteAdvisor Enterprise (SAE) 3.5 with/without Patch 1 or 2
ProblemThe SAE reports run at the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) console do not show data for websites visited by end nodes.
The issue is seen only when the McAfee Agent policy enforcement interval is set to less than 30 minutes. Restarting the SiteAdvisor service on the client allows the events to be sent to the ePO server. CauseWhen the policy enforcement interval is set to 30 minutes or less, SAE is unable to generate event files for the McAfee Agent to upload to the ePO server.
SolutionThis issue is resolved in SAE 3.5 Patch 3.
McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the Product Downloads site at: https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/downloads/my-products.html.
NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. See KB56057 - How to download Enterprise product updates and documentation for more information about the Product Downloads site, and alternate locations for some products. WorkaroundAs a temporary measure, increase the McAfee Agent policy enforcement interval to greater than 30 minutes.
For instructions on how to set the policy enforcement interval, refer to the ePolicy Orchestrator Product Guide for your product version. For McAfee product documents, go to the Enterprise Product Documentation portal at https://docs.mcafee.com.
