Technical Articles ID:   KB79334
Last Modified:  4/19/2016

Environment

McAfee Application Control (MAC) 6.1, 6.0
McAfee Change Control (MCC) 6.1, 6.0

Summary

This article describes an issue with Windows Junction or directory Symbolic Link.

Problem

The computer locks up, with MAC/MCC enabled, if you create NTFS Junctions.

For details on Junctions, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768.aspx.

Solution

This issue is resolved in MAC/MCC 6.1.4 (or later).

McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the Product Downloads site at: http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx.

NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the Product Downloads site, and alternate locations for some products.

Workaround

  1. Run the following command:

    sadmin config set customerconfig=<current decimal value> + 128

NOTE: You can retrieve the current decimal value using the sadmin config show command.

  2. Run the following command:

    sadmin skiplist add –i “\system volume information\MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase”

  3. Restart your computer.
