ProblemWhen you install an SAE 3.5 patch or hotfix the install completes, but the patch or hotfix is not installed. The McAfee Agent logs show that the deployment task or update task is successful.
CauseA browser window was open when the installation task ran.
SAE cannot upgrade or apply hotfixes if a browser window is open. If a deployment of the patch or hotfix occurs when a browser window is open, the SAE installer will prompt the McAfee Agent for a reboot and run the SAE install after the reboot. SolutionAllow the system to restart, which will then allow the SAE 3.5 installer to complete the installation.
NOTE: If a user opens a browser after logging on and before the SAE installer task runs, this will again cause the SAE installer to present the user with another system restart prompt. Deployments by the McAfee Agent are controlled by the policy settings for MA. In the MA General tab, under the section Reboot options after product deployment, there are options for a forced reboot or a prompt shown to the end user.
