While running the sadmin command in a command line interface (CLI), the following message displays and the command does not complete successfully:

Inventory upgrade is in progress


This issue is resolved in MAC 6.1.2, which is available from the McAfee Downloads site.

NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the Product Downloads site, and alternate locations for some products.


Do the following in Update mode:

  • Do not run a REG file that is not confirmed to be a genuine registry import file.

  1. Click Start, Run, type regedit and click OK.
  2. Navigate to:  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\swin\parameters]
  3. Set InvUpgradeConfig to 0.
  4. Click Start, Run, type services.msc and click OK.
  5. Restart the scsrvc service.
  6. End update mode by running the following command locally:

    sadmin eu
