McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Endpoint - all supported versions For supported environments, see KB68147 - Supported platforms for Data Loss Prevention Endpoint. ProblemA Removable Mass Storage rule is created to block USB Mass storage devices, but DataCard devices are also blocked.
You want to block only the mass storage component on the DataCard, but allow connecting to the internet using the device. Cause
Most DataCard devices mount a CD image when connected. This image is needed to load the modem drivers needed for the device to work. The CD image is also a Removable Storage Device, so the DLP Endpoint rule blocks it.
SolutionTo allow a CD image to be loaded, create a Removable Storage Device Rule. This rule must include a USB Mass Storage Definition and exclude CD\DVD Drives.
Two definitions need to be created:
