McAfee File and Removable Media Protection (FRP) 5.0.x, 4.3.x
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments

Summary

This support statement is provided by the Product Management Team.


FRP 5.0.x and 4.3 offer support for Citrix XenDesktop 5.6 and XenDesktop 7.1.

Support is provided for the Citrix XenDesktop 5.6 environment operating in the following modes:
  • Physical
  • Existing
Support is provided for the Citrix XenDesktop 7.1 environment operating in Remote PC mode.
FRP 5.0.1 and later adds support for Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 environments. For server instances, best effort support is offered only for Windows 2012 R2 instances.

NOTE: Removable media encryption functionality is not supported with server instances.

NOTES:
Installation:
  • Install Citrix XenDesktop 5.6, 7.1, or 7.6 in accordance with the standard Citrix product documentation.
  • To install the FRP client in a supported Citrix environment, follow the standard installation instructions provided in the respective FRP Product Guide.
General:
  • McAfee is planning to offer support for additional modes/versions of Citrix XenDesktop and other VDI platforms in the future.
  • If you require support for FRP for additional platforms in a VDI environment, you can submit a new product idea by logging in at: https://www51.v1ideas.com/IntelIdeas/ISecGForum.

IMPORTANT: Other VDI environments, for example APP-V, are currently unsupported. To add support for VDI environments, submit a Product Enhancement Request (PER).
