Environment

McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint (DLPE) 9.3

Microsoft Windows 7

Problem

Microsoft Windows 7 crashes during the boot process. A .dmp file is not created.

Cause

This is caused when DLPE is set to manage the SCSI and RAID device classes. Some of the third-party drivers are incompatible with being managed.

NOTE: This issue may also occur on Windows 8; however, it has never been reported to date.

Solution

Unmanage the SCSI and RAID device classes.

NOTE: These are set to be unmanaged by default.
