Client always shows the System State as Inactive (when BitLocker is installed via the command line)

Last Modified: 2/5/2020 EnvironmentProblem 1When you view Show Endpoint Encryption System Status on the client (accessed via the McAfee Agent in the Windows notification area), the activation stalls at the message Searching for Encryption Providers.
Some systems fail to activate after successfully installing Drive Encryption. Specifically, this failure can occur on systems that show:
On the client
The following information appears in the Encryption System Status window, even though the encryption policy was activated in ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO):
On the ePO console The following Client System Details show for Drive Encryption:
If you click More, Disks, you see the following message: No details available, as Drive Encryption is not Active Problem 2MfeEpe.log (client log) records one of the following errors:
Failed to get all required system objects during initialization: [0xCF000001] Failed to execute method
OR WARNING MfeEpeCoreEncryptionPlugin INCOMPATIBLE PRODUCT(S) DETECTED! The following incompatible product(s) were found: BitLocker ERROR StatusService Activation has failed: Incompatible products found CauseDE fails to activate because of the incompatible product BitLocker being installed. Although the BitLocker service is not started and the BitLocker Control Panel shows BitLocker is disabled, BitLocker has been enabled via the command line and is active.
SolutionThe only way to confirm whether BitLocker is enabled is to use the command line.
Verify that BitLocker is enabled, and then disable it so you can activate Drive Encryption successfully:
