Environment

McAfee Cloud Workload Security (CWS) for vSphere - all supported versions

Problem

The Virtual Machines (VMs) are assigned to another group in the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) System Tree. The group is different from the vSphere group created when the vSphere account first synchronized in ePO. The VMs randomly reappear in the default vSphere structure in the ePO console.

Cause

Because of a loss of connection with the host, the VMs are moved to the default group when the host reconnects.

Solution

This behavior is expected.

Workaround

If McAfee Agent is installed on the VMs, the systems can be retained in another group in the ePO System Tree.
