How to remove the Paused scan message in Endpoint Security

Problem

When a scheduled scan starts and the system is active, a Paused message appears.

Cause

Endpoint Security is designed to scan on-demand only when the system is idle. If an On-Demand scan tries to start and the system is being used, the Paused message appears. The scan will begin again when the system has been idle for three minutes.

Solution

NOTE: Technical Support recommends that you do not disable the scan on idle feature, except on servers or systems that users access using Remote Desktop Connection (RDP).

To disable the scan on idle feature, do the following:
  1. Log on to the McAfee console as an Administrator.
  2. Select the Threat Prevention module and click Advanced
  3. From On-Demand Scan, configure the Schedule option to Scan anytime.
