Temporary files captured from whitelisted URLs are not deleted automatically

McAfee Data Loss Prevention Endpoint (DLP Endpoint) 9.3 Update 4 (9.3.400)

If the Whitelisted URLs feature is used in DLP Endpoint, temporary Internet files (*.tmp) build up in the %Temp%/DLPTemp folder. These files are created by the DLP Endpoint plug-ins for browsers when you open whitelisted URLs.
In normal circumstances, the DLP Endpoint Agent deletes these files after analyzing their content.

System Change

Through a new DLP Endpoint 9.3.400 Agent Configuration feature, an administrator can create a list of URLs that are excluded from all web post protection rules.

The implementation of the Whitelisted URLs feature causes this issue. The DLP Endpoint Agent does not process the temporary files from whitelisted URLs, which delete the files.

This issue is resolved in DLP Endpoint 9.3 Update 5, which is available by logging on to the ServicePortal at: https://support.mcafee.com/downloads.

Updates are cumulative; so, Technical Support recommends that you install the latest one.

To review the Release Notes for this update, see PD26028.
To review Known Issues, see KB84779.

As a temporary workaround, exclude URLs using Web Destination List instead of Whitelisted URLs.
