Technical Articles ID:   KB85430
Last Modified:  8/22/2018

McAfee Application Control (MAC) 6.2, 6.1

Windows (All supported versions)

Files might remain unsolidified and denied from execution even if updated through an Updater channel. Files are not added to the whitelist when:
  • An application is installed, updated, or removed.
  • Windows patches are installed.
The issue might occur if the following is true:
  1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\swin\kmodfops exits.
  2. The Solidcore log file contains the following errors:
    • Error opening inventory transaction log for appending: log_store_name \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Solidcore\scinvlog: err 13 (0xd): Permission denied
    • Unable to open APPEND type store in APPEND-only mode: filename \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Solidcore\scinvlog: err 13 (0xd): Permission denied

This issue is resolved in MAC and later.
