Problem

You are unable to upgrade or uninstall the NuGet Manager extension from Microsoft VS, on client systems that have FRP installed.

Removing FRP allows the removal or upgrade of NuGet tools.

When you try to upgrade or remove NuGet, the Microsoft VS MSI installer log records the following errors:

Cause

The Microsoft VS process devenv.exe must be excluded in the FRP process exclusion registry key.

Solution

Customers with this issue must contact Technical Support and quote this article number, for assistance with adding the devenv.exe process to the correct FRP process exclusion registry key.
