Technical Support policy for legacy Windows platforms
McAfee will continue to support Windows XP-based operating systems until December 31, 2023, with Application Control, Change Control, Embedded Control, and Integrity Control. This legacy support includes:
- Windows Embedded Point of Service (WEPOS)
- POSReady 2009
- Windows 2003
- Windows XP
You can manage the products with the latest ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) versions and specific MA versions for this duration.
Microsoft no longer supports these Windows platforms. McAfee provides Technical Support for Application Control, Change Control, Embedded Control, and Integrity Control on these platforms as long as:
- Support is technically and commercially reasonable.
- There is no external dependency.
For example, if a McAfee product requires Microsoft to provide a fix and Microsoft does not provide the fix, McAfee can't support the product any longer.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the best level of security coverage with McAfee products. Upgrade to a supported Microsoft Windows operating system version.
How to purchase support for legacy Windows platforms
Beginning January 2016, all new or renewal customers must purchase a legacy platform support SKU to run the following products on the above-mentioned platforms:
- Application and Change Control
- ePolicy Orchestrator
- McAfee Agent
McAfee reserves the right to change the terms of its support policy in this announcement at any time. McAfee endeavors to provide notice of any material changes within a reasonable period, before such changes occur.
