Remediation package numbers for Host Intrusion Prevention signature content update packages can vary
Technical Articles ID:
KB86409
Last Modified: 7/30/2018 Environment
McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention (Host IPS) 8.0, 7.0 SummaryGenerally, build versions for Host Intrusion Prevention remediation packages are incrementally one number higher than the build version (n+1). For example, for signature content number 6491, the remediation package number is 6492.
In some cases, the Content team has issues generating a remediation package and, in the process, creates several interim test builds. The package version number increases each time and the remediation package numbering becomes nonsequential.
For example, content number 6821 has a remediation package numbered 6833 because of the number of interim test builds created before the final remediation package was completed.
