This article describes how to create a URL for the McAfee Smart Installer, and the constraints of this type of deployment.

After you create the URL for the McAfee Smart Installer, you can distribute the McAfee Smart Installer for users to download and install MA on the managed node.

To create a URL for the McAfee Smart Installer:

1. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator console.
2. Click Menu, Systems, System Tree, and then click New Systems.
3. Select Create URL for client-side agent download. This option creates a URL from the MA installer.
4. Select the appropriate operating system and MA version.
5. If you want the installer to use a specific Agent Handler, select it from the drop-down list. If not, select All Agent Handlers.
   
   NOTE: If you select All Agent Handlers, the agent configuration files are downloaded from the primary Agent Handler or the ePO server. All Agent Handlers are listed in the Sitelist.xml for further download of installation files.
    
6. Click OK. A customized URL is displayed on the Agent Deployment URL page.

• The user must have administrator rights on the local system to install MA using McAfee Smart Installer.
