This article provides information about how to collect the log files that you need to troubleshoot the DLP Endpoint Agent issues on Mac systems.
Run the Minimum Escalations Requirement (MER) tool using the DLP Endpoint user interface:
- Change log level to Debug in the DLP Mac OS X configuration.
- Deploy policy to the endpoint. Verify that policy has been received and is being enforced.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Right-click the McAfee shield icon, and select About, McAfee Endpoint Protection for Mac.
- Click Help from the menu bar.
- Click Run MERTool.
- When prompted, type your password to complete the process.
- Wait for the MER tool to collect the data. When the MER tool finishes, it shows the location of the output .zip file.
- Retrieve and send McAfee the resulting .zip file
Run the MER tool using the command line:
- Open the terminal console.
- Run the following commands:
#cd /usr/local/McAfee
#sudo ./MSCMertool -i McAfee
NOTE: The #sudo ./MSCMertool -i McAfee command collects logs for all McAfee products.
- Choose which product logs to collect and press Enter. When the MER tool finishes, it shows the location of the output .zip file.
