Environment

McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention 10.x
Microsoft Internet Explorer

Problem

You installed Endpoint Security Threat Prevention. Users might be prompted about whether to enable the scriptproxy add-on when they start Internet Explorer.

The prompt displays the following message and two options:

The 'scriptproxy' add-on from "McAfee, Inc" is ready for use.

Enable Don't enable

Cause

This scriptproxy add-on is needed for the ScriptScan feature to function normally.

This prompt is valid for the Endpoint Security Threat Prevention ScriptScan feature. McAfee Enterprise can't suppress this prompt because of limitations of the browser and domain policy.

Solution

Use one of the following options:

Users click Enable at the prompt message.
The administrator configures the Group Policy settings for Internet Explorer to not prompt users for this message.
