Environment

McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.x
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.x

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Problem

After you install ENS Threat Prevention or VSE, the scriptproxy add-on in Internet Explorer is enabled.

If the ScriptScan feature is subsequently disabled in ENS or VSE, the scriptproxy add-on in Internet Explorer remains enabled.

Cause

The ScriptScan feature cannot be disabled by McAfee products because of limitations of the browser and domain Group Policy settings.

Solution

The administrator must configure the Group Policy settings for Internet Explorer to disable add-ons.
