Curl error 67, Response 530, Connect code 0 (McAfee Agent update task failed from an FTP server)

McAfee Agent 5.0.3, 5.0.2


IMPORTANT: Effective May 31, 2019, the service provider that McAfee uses to host our FTP service will no longer provide FTP capabilities. For details, see KB91260.


McAfee Agent fails to update from the FTP repository with the following error:
Curl error 67, Response 530, Connect code 0

The problem occurs when you:
  1. Create an FTP distributed repository for a McAfee Agent client.
  2. Log on to the client's VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) console and disable the FTP repository and enable the ePO Master Repository instead.
  3. Enforce policies again to re-establish the FTP repository. 
The mscript.log contains the following errors:

When saving the FTP credentials in the database from the VSE user interface, UpdaterUI incorrectly saved the password.


This issue is resolved in McAfee Agent 5.0.4, which is available from the Product Downloads site at: http://mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx

Updates are cumulative; Technical Support recommends that you install the latest one.
