To investigate an issue with Content Security Reporter, collect these preliminary logs to help Technical Support troubleshoot CSR Issues.
Create a Content Security Reporter Backup file:
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Click Menu, Configuration, Report Server Settings.
- From the Setting Categories menu, select System Backup.
- From the Actions menu, select Backup Now.
- When the System Backup message appears, click OK.
NOTES:
- The backup process can take several minutes.
- A backup123456789 folder is created, where 123456789 is the time stamp.
- The backup files are stored in the report server installation folder McAfee\Content Security Reporter\reporter\conf\.
- A backup (XML) file is saved in the backup folder.
- Wait until the file is created, then continue working without restoring it.
Create a Content Security Reporter Feedback file:
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Click Menu, Configuration, Report Server Settings.
- From the Setting Categories menu, select Support.
- Click Start.
- When the Support message appears, click OK.
NOTES:
- The feedback files are stored in the report server installation folder: McAfee\Content Security Reporter\reporter\docs\support.
- A status message is generated when the file has been created.
- If ePO shows an error saying the feedback generation failed, go to the report server installation folder. Verify that the customer Service Request feedback was created.
- There are instances when ePO shows that the feedback generation failed, but the file is present in the feedback directory.
- If the feedback files aren't zipped, wait for a couple more minutes. If the feedback files are still not zipped, zip them and attach them to your Service Request.
