MACC 6.4 introduce CheckSum as Updater feature. To use this feature, MACC Extension 8.3 needs to be used.
Our installer allows you to upgrade to any version, but Support and Engineering recommend these upgrade paths.
Inventory architectural changes were changed from 6.x to 7.x to 8.x, which is why it is important that you not upgrade directly from 6.x to 8.x.
When you upgrade from 6.x to 8.x, features enable/disable do not retain the status in some situations.
To upgrade the MACC extension 6.0.0 or earlier than 6.2.0 to ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), follow the order below to perform the upgrade:
Upgrade MACC extension to 6.2.0.
Upgrade ePO to 5.3.0-5.3.3.
Upgrade the MACC extension from6.2.0 to 7.x.x, and then upgrade to 8.3.2.

McAfee recommends that you install the latest updates for Windows 7.
Microsoft ended extended support for Windows Server 2003 SP2 on July 14, 2015. As of the end of 2015, the only McAfee product supported with Windows Server 2003 SP2 is Application and Change Control.
McAfee has not officially tested all kernels of these operating systems. To view the full list of officially supported kernels, see:
EOL period—The time frame that runs from the day McAfee announces product discontinuation, until the last date that McAfee formally supports the product. In general, after the EOL period is announced, no enhancements are made.
