2 This version of Google Chrome is not supported with some newer versions of DLP Endpoint.

NOTE: Any future product functionality or releases mentioned in the Knowledge Base are intended to outline our general product direction and should not be relied on, either as a commitment, or when making a purchasing decision.

DLP Endpoint uses Standard Protection to protect Chrome:

Standard Protection
  • Detect and Protect file uploads: Uses standard Windows APIs to intercept when Chrome uploads a file using drag and drop, or using a file browse dialog. This feature can monitor and report incidents.
  • Detect text upload: Uses a Chrome extension to monitor and report text upload.
NOTES:
  • From version 10.0.500 and 11.0.300, Standard Protection is done using the DLP Chrome extension and you are unable to block file uploads. You can see only reported incidents.
  • In September 2018, Google Chrome 69 was released. This release prevents third-party software from injecting code into the browser, which affects DLP web protection. For more information, see KB90595.

  • McAfee continues to review Google Chrome’s architecture for changes because it enables McAfee to offer blocking capabilities similar to how it was with Google Chrome 68 and earlier.
